Being featured in this book, I couldn't help taking part in its launch as well. Anna and I lived together for a couple of years in remote German-speaking Switzerland, in St. Gallen, where the true story behind this book was born.
For the launch of ”La vergogna di un Bournout”, Anna wanted a few shots: a series of studio portraits from which to choose the book cover, and a nature-connection themed series that would convey the concept behind it in a more emotional way. The book is a novel about a girl who, after suffering the consequences of a path made of professional milestones, goals, expectations and pressure constantly at the limit, falls into an existential crisis and, questioning who she really is and what truly matters to her, begins a joyful journey of self-rediscovery.
Precisely because being in contact with nature is an important gesture that brings a person back to themselves — just like reading — we decided to portray an ordinary girl in the act of reading the story immersed in greenery, with bare feet touching the earth.
Reading a book in a wood, lying on a meadow or leaning against a tree trunk undoubtedly makes reading a light, flavourful and memorable experience.
